Acupuncture in Carrollwood

Acupuncture might seem like a mystical treatment from the far East, but more and more modern medical practitioners are embracing the very real medical benefits that acupuncture can bring to their patients. Here at Florida Wellness Medical Center in Carrollwood, we offer acupuncture therapy to all of our patients seeking symptom relief using drug-free and surgery-free methods.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical technique that involves opening up the flow of energy around a person’s body by unblocking their acupoints. Acupoints are thought of as places where energy flows through the body. Disease blocks, or otherwise inhibit the flow of energy through these acupoints. By strategically inserting very small needles into the acupoints associated with a person’s symptoms, the blockage is cleared and the person’s energy is allowed to move freely again!

What is an Acupuncture Session Like?

While the thought of someone sticking you with lots of tiny needles might sound a little scary, trust us, it’s not. In fact, most patients barely feel anything during their acupuncture sessions. Acupuncture sessions are quick, only about 20-30 minutes long depending on the condition being treated.

What Can Acupuncture Treat?

Acupuncture has shown benefits for many conditions and diseases, including:

  • Gastrointestinal and digestive problems
  • Respiratory conditions
  • Gynecological problems
  • Emotional disorders
  • Neurological problems
  • Fatigue
  • Degenerative diseases
  • Substance rehabilitation
  • Smoking cessation
  • Weight loss

No matter what problem is ailing you, there is an acupoint that controls that system’s energy flow. With over 350 identified acupoints on the human body, only a qualified acupuncture therapist can determine the best combination of acupoints to treat your symptoms.

Is Acupuncture Worth the Money?

We often hear people comment that the price of acupuncture sessions is too high and that they are unsure if acupuncture is really worth it. We 100% believe that acupuncture is fully worth its cost, especially when receiving a discounted rate – like through our monthly acupuncture subscription plan. By enhancing overall health, relieving painful or debilitating symptoms, and boosting mood and energy, acupuncture is a great way to maintain optimal health!

Still not convinced? Then, consider the cost of not engaging in health preventative measures and instead, falling ill with a chronic condition, such as Crohn’s disease. After multiple doctor’s visits, thousands of dollars spent on copays, hospital bills, prescriptions, and more, and the excruciating pain and loss of quality of life that is typical for Crohn’s sufferers, the cost of those acupuncture sessions doesn’t seem so bad. The old expression, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” seems to apply here.

Does Insurance Pay for Acupuncture?

In the past, health insurance companies ran for the hills when paying for acupuncture services came up. But these days, even insurance companies can’t deny the health-improving benefits of acupuncture services, which is why many plans now offer acupuncture benefits! Contact your health insurance company to find out exactly what your plan covers.

If your insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture, or if you don’t have insurance, consider our monthly acupuncture subscription program or purchasing a package of acupuncture visits for a discounted rate.
