What’s Involved in a Sports Physical?

Typically, sports programs provide the athlete with a form that must be completed by a physician. This form tends to vary from program to program but may include questions about the athlete’s physical fitness, underlying medical conditions, medical history, and any medications that the athlete is currently taking.

During your sports physical, our doctor will perform a specialized medical exam, which may include:

  • Measuring your height and weight
  • Recording your blood pressure reading and pulse
  • Completing a basic vision test
  • Evaluating your throat, lungs, heart, nose, belly, and ears
  • Evaluating your posture, strength, and flexibility

  • Current medications

What to Bring to Your Sports Physical
