  • What is a sports medicine doctor?

A Sports Medicine Doctor is a medical provider who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions related to sports and physical activity.  These doctors have specialized training in both sports science and general medicine, allowing them to address the unique healthcare needs of not only athletes but any active individual.

  • If I already have a general doctor, why should I see an Integrative Doctor?

Our Florida Wellness Medical Group Doctors will develop treatment plans specifically tailored to each individual and their specific needs and goals.  Each treatment plan is designed to complement any existing treatment plans that may be prescribed by your Primary Care and other Specialty Physicians.

  • What is the difference between Acupuncture & Dry Needling?

    • Philosophy: Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles, which emphasize the balance of energy flow within the body.  Dry needling, on the other hand, is rooted in Western medicine and focuses on treating muscle pain and dysfunction by targeting trigger points and tight bands of muscle.
    • Technique: In acupuncture, needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points along energy meridians, which are believed to correspond to various organs and bodily functions.  Dry needling, however, targets trigger points or tight muscles directly, regardless of their location along energy meridians.
    • Purpose: Acupuncture is often used to treat a wide range of conditions beyond musculoskeletal issues, including digestive disorders, insomnia, anxiety, and more. Dry needling is used to address muscle pain, stiffness, and dysfunction.

Many people can benefit from acupuncture, including those experiencing chronic pain, stress related conditions, digestive issues, insomnia, and more.  It’s important to consult with our qualified provider to determine if acupuncture is appropriate for your specific condition and needs.
